Strikes me that "scheming" is valuable as an adjunct to "working", (an activity on which many of our western ethics/role models are focussed) but becomes dangerous when unaccompanied. EG Capital applied to industry is good; capital applied to dead-calorie financial instruments (eg betting on a bust without a direct interest to protect) not so good.

Thank you John! This is all so very true for those of us who watched the almost unbelieveable 6th January 2021 "event" and the previous 4 years of Trump in power! Yet Trump still seems to be popular with so many Republican high flyers and voters, rightly disenchanted by Democrat policies.

The stupid gangster and mass murderer, Putin, whom Trump clearly admired, is of a similar ilk, of course. We Europeans are rightly in a state of chaos because our "leaders" must surely have recognised this but found it "convenient" to pretend otherwise?

We live in frightening times!
